Nolcken ( Russian Нолькен Nolken ) is originally from the county Hoya originating German Baltic noble family .

history

The family comes from the county of Hoya , where in 1459 five Noleken brothers are mentioned as members of the knighthood. They were castle men at Uchte Castle . A Heinrich Nolcken to the 16th century Livonia have emigrated. In 1620, his son Christoph received a certificate from Count Adolf von Bentheim-Tecklenburg about his aristocratic origins. He became the progenitor of the Polish-Lithuanian line. His brother Heimart founded the line based on Ösel .

In 1726 the Swedish diplomat Erich Matthias von Nolcken , son of the owner of the Haeska estate on Ösel, was accepted into the Swedish nobility by King Friedrich and in 1727 he was introduced to the knight's house under the number 1806 . In 1747 Friedrich raised him to the baron rank . In 1752 his family was included in the list of the Swedish knight families under number 223.

A younger branch, on the other hand, settled in Livonia in 1787 and was accepted into the Livonian Knighthood in 1797 . This branch lived in the Baltic provinces and Russia until 1919. By an imperial Russian edict, Baron Gustav von Nolcken was accepted into the Finnish knighthood in 1812 , where the family had been listed under number 14 by the barons since 1818 .

In 1890, Woldemar von Nolcken (1851-1917), as the nephew of the childless Michael von Reutern, was raised to the rank of Russian count with the title Count Reutern, Baron Nolcken in the Primogenitur . The branch he donated Graf Reutern, Baron Nolcken still existed in 2018.
