Coat of arms of the von Berg adH Kandel

Von Berg , also called Berch in Sweden , is the name of an originally Baltic noble family .

history

The family is tribe and coat of arms identical to those of Pasik (†) and was first mentioned in Estonia with Nikolaus de Monte , heir to Kirrifer in Harrien in the years 1371-1405.

The royal Swedish captain of the life guards, Casper Johann Berg (* 1688; † 1761) received the Swedish nobility naturalization in 1723 and was introduced to the nobility class of the Swedish knighthood in the same year (No. 1774).

The von Berg were enrolled in all four Baltic knighthoods. 1741 the family was in the oeselschen knighthood in 1745 in the Estonian knighthood , 1747 in the Livonian knighthood and in 1841 Courland knighthood enrolled .

In 1799 there was another nobility naturalization in Sweden with the name Berch for the royal Swedish court marshal Georg Philipp Berg (* 1769, † 1817). The introduction to the Swedish nobility class took place in 1813 (No. 1774).

The family is to be distinguished in particular from the mountain adH Carmel and the mountain adH Kattentack, which can also be found in historical Estonia . These two sexes also have a black eagle in their shields, which does not exclude a tribal relationship, but this has not been proven. The mountain treated here were u. a. wealthy on Kandel , are therefore also called Berg adH Kandel to distinguish them . They also owned Engdes , Fall, Hackeweid , Jewe , Ruil , Saggad , Warrang and Wayküll in Estonia.
