Nikolai Mikhailovich Drozdov

Nikolai Michailowitsch Drosdow ( Russian: Николай Михайлович Дроздов ; born December 23, 1917 in the village of Rakovo, Moscow Governorate , † 1974 in Moscow ) was a Soviet rear admiral . From 1961 to 1963 he was the 8th Commander of the Caspian Higher Officers School of the Soviet Naval Fleet in Baku .

Life

Drosdov began his military career in 1936. From August 1936 to November 1939, he attended the officer school for naval aviation forces J.W. Stalin . In 1939 he became a member of the CPSU . After finishing the officers' school, he was an assistant to the head of the political department for Komsomol work at this school until October 1941 . In October 1941 he became a squadron commissioner of the Air Force School for Naval Aviation in Astrakhan . In September 1942, the squadron became part of the 22nd reconnaissance squadron and was deployed to the Northern Fleet . From December 1942 to September 1943 Drosdow completed the military-political Lenin Academy and then until April 1944 higher military-political courses in the fleet. From April 1944 he worked for the Central Committee of the CPSU and was responsible for naval issues as an instructor for the cadre management.

From November 1945 to July 1946 Drosdow was in Germany and served as a party organizer on the provisional special committee of the Council of People's Commissars . From July 1946 he continued his previous work at the Central Committee of the CPSU and worked from 1948 to 1951 as an advisor to the administrative department of the Central Committee of the CPSU. On November 9, 1951, he was appointed Rear Admiral. From April 1951 to November 1956 he was chief of the command of the naval war fleet. In November 1956 he was exempted from this task and transferred to the High Command of the Naval Navy. He attended academic courses for officers at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR "KJ Voroshilov" until October 1957 . Drozdov first took the position of assistant to the chief from October 1957 to June 1958, and from June 1958 to June 1961 of the deputy chief of the USSR Military Educational Institutions. From June 1961 to November 1961 he was deputy head of training for the fleet and from November 1961 to February 1963 commander of the Caspian Naval War School. After this activity he moved again to the fleet command and was deputy chief for training and procurement until August 1971. He was then retired.
