Nikolai Ramm Østgaard

Nikolai Ramm Østgaard (born October 30, 1885 , † June 20, 1958 ) was a Norwegian football player and sports functional . He was the second President of the International Ski Federation (FIS) from 1934 to 1951 .

Østgaard was a colonel in the Norwegian army . He began his sporting career as a football player and became Norwegian champion as such. Later he showed excellent performances in the ski competitions on Holmenkollen .

From 1924, Østgaard worked on the board of directors of the Ski Feningen Sports Association and in 1927 moved to the head of the Norwegian Ski Association. He remained its president until 1930. As early as 1928, he took over the office of vice president of the International Ski Federation (FIS) alongside Ivar Holmquist . At the XIII. FIS Congress in February 1934, Østgaard was elected Holmquist's successor in the office of President. He stayed in this position until 1951. After his resignation he was elected honorary president of the association. Successor in the office of President was the Swiss Marc Hodler .
