Nikolaos Kaklamanakis

Nikolaos Kaklamanakis ( Greek Νικόλαος Κακλαμανάκης , born August 19, 1968 in Athens ) is a Greek windsurfer .

He won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta . At the Summer Olympics in Athens, he finished second. He was also world champion in 1996, 2000, 2001 , European champion in 1994 and first in the world rankings in 1995 and 1996. Nikolaos Kaklamanakis lit the at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Olympic flame . He carried the Greek flag at the closing ceremony of the 1996 Summer Olympics . He was also the flag bearer of the Greek Olympic team when the athletes marched into the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney .
