Nikolaus Breuel

Peter Nikolaus Breuel (born April 23, 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German management consultant and manager .

Life

Nikolaus Breuel grew up in Hamburg as the eldest son of the publishing clerk Ernst-Jürgen Breuel and the former president of the Treuhandanstalt Birgit Breuel . He studied law and did his doctorate at the University of Hamburg in 1992 on the subject of electricity prices for special customers in the framework of the constitution .

He worked for M. DuMont Schauberg and the management consultancy Roland Berger . In 1993 Breuel took over the management of a joint venture between the Deutsche Bundesbahn and the service company "(dvm-Gruppe)". In 1994 he became managing director of the BRG service companies in Berlin and Leipzig. In 1996 Breuel became the spokesman for the management of dvm-Holding. As head of corporate development at Deutsche Bahn AG , Breuel was responsible for strategic projects from 2000, in particular the “Fokus” restructuring program. From 2004 Breuel was chairman of the board of the DB Fernverkehr AG . During the time of his chairmanship, long-distance transport returned to profitability. In 2010, Breuel was replaced by Berthold Huber and left Deutsche Bahn AG after 17 years.

In 2011, Breuel founded the management consultancy Karl-J with the former Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Roland Berger . Kraus GmbH , whose managing partner he became. He has been chairman of the supervisory board of YOC AG since 2014 .

Breuel is chairman of the board of the Humboldt-Universitäts-Gesellschaft in Berlin and a member of the presidium of the economic council of the CDU .

On October 1st, 2015 Breuel was appointed managing director from the supervisory board of the Hamburg “D + S communication center management GmbH”. He returned to the Supervisory Board with effect from August 1, 2016.

Breuel is married and has two children.
