Nikolaus Wagner
Nikolaus Wagner OSB (born August 19, 1936 in Dorfbeuern ) is a Benedictine and former abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of Michaelbeuern near Salzburg.
Life
He entered the Michaelbeuern Benedictine Abbey in 1956 and was later ordained a priest . On November 8, 1982 he was elected as the successor to Roman Hinterhöller as 55th Abbot of Michaelbeuern. On January 30, 1983, he received the benediction . His motto is: Veritas in caritate - truth in love . In 2006 he resigned from office.
Wagner is the managing director of the Augustiner brewery Kloster Mülln OG . The company is 50% owned by Michaelbeurer Abbey and operates the Müllner Bräustübl in the city of Salzburg .
