Protestant church | Hamminkeln Marktstrasse (hallway 22, parcel 817) map |
The founding of the church probably dates back to the 10th century; it was first mentioned in a document in 1154. The oldest parts from the Romanesque and Gothic periods consist of tuff and Roman bricks , which can be proven to have come from the Roman camp in Xanten . Inside is a fresco of Christophorus from around 1450. The organ was built in 1774. The 37.70 meter high church tower was previously lower and was raised to its current height in 1878. | 52
