The station Dingden is one of three stations of the city Hamminkeln in Wesel . It is located in the Dingden district on the Wesel – Bocholt railway line . In addition to the Dingden train station, the city also has the Hamminkeln and Mehrhoog train stations on the Oberhausen – Arnhem railway line . Dingden was a train station until 2005. Now, after long dismantling, it has been downgraded to a stopping point.

Location and structure

The station is on the western outskirts of Dingden in the street Am Bahnhof . West of the station is an industrial park. The St. Pankratius Church as the district center of Dingden is approx. 300 m from the train station. The reception building is now used as a restaurant.

Dingden station was opened in 1878 on the Wesel – Bocholt railway line.

The RE 19a runs once an hour between Wesel and Bocholt. Due to the lack of electrification of the railway line, it runs on diesel multiple units. In Wesel there is a connection to the trains RE 5 , RE 19 and RE 49 , which run in the direction of Emmerich and in the opposite direction to the western Ruhr area and beyond to Wuppertal , Düsseldorf , Cologne and Koblenz .

The Bocholt railway line is to be electrified. In the course of the RE 19a as RE 19 with a tensile member from Emmerich (since April 2017. Arnhem ) in Wesel to a combined train and via Oberhausen and Duisburg to Dusseldorf by bound. Hamminkeln and Dingden can be connected to the Ruhr area and the Rhineland without having to change trains .
