history

Until it was incorporated on January 1, 1975, Blumenkamp was part of the Hamminkeln community. It was considered a building area and was initially only sparsely populated. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, the residents oriented themselves towards Wesel, which is why it was assigned to this place as part of the municipal reorganization. The Blumenkampshof located in the area gave a breakpoint on the Wesel-Bocholt railway line opened in 1878 and later gave the district its name.
