Nilesat is an Egyptian company that operates several communications satellites and their associated ground stations. The company Egyptian Satellite Co. was founded in 1996, the headquarters are in Madinat as-Sadis min Uktubar (City of October 6th). The largest shareholder is the state-run Egyptian Radio and Television Union with 40%. In 2010 the company achieved a turnover of 126 million US dollars .

Satellites

From September 2005 to June 2006 the Eutelsat satellite Hotbird 4 was used under the name Nilesat 103 at 7 ° W. In November 2010, Nilesat signed a contract with Eutelsat that allows the use of Eutelsat capacities for a period of 10 years. This was done first by the Atlantic Bird 4A satellite , later by the Atlantic Bird 7 (Eutelsat 7 West A) , which was launched on September 24, 2011 . Nilesat markets this capacity under the name Nilesat 104 .

At the beginning of 2013, Nilesat operated three of its own satellites, all of which were at 7 ° West :
