It was placed in geostationary orbit on August 20, 2015 at 20:34 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA launcher from the Center Spatial Guyanais rocket launch site (together with Intelsat 34 ) .

The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with 58 Ku-band (40 active) and 12 C-band transponders (10 active) and is intended to provide television and telecommunications services to the Middle East, Africa and South America from 8 ° West. The satellite is to be used by the European communications satellite operator Eutelsat together with Nilesat from Egypt, in particular for the distribution of high-definition television programs (also in 4K Ultra HD ) in North Africa and the Middle East.
