Eutelsat 21B is a commercial communications satellite of the European company Eutelsat based in Paris .

It was launched on November 10, 2012 at 21:05 UTC with an Ariane 5 ECA from the Center Spatial Guyanais from launch pad ELA-3 together with the Brazilian satellite Star One C3 .

The satellite is equipped with 40 Ku-band - transponders equipped and is on the position 21.5 ° East Europe, North / North West Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East provide them with telecommunications and data services. In this position he will replace Eutelsat 21A (launched in 1999). It is equipped with a “widebeam” for Europe as well as North Africa and Central Asia as well as two separate “high-power beams” for Northwest Africa and the Middle East / Central Africa.

According to Eutelsat, six more satellites are to follow these satellites by mid-2015. These 7 satellites are intended to increase Eutelsat's total resources by 30 percent. Eutelsat 21B was Eutelsat's 26th launch with Arianespace and the 20th satellite from Thales Alenia Space. The next satellite is to follow Eutelsat 70B at 70.5 ° East in early December 2012.
