Eutelsat 16C is a former television satellite of the Paris-based European Telecommunications Satellite Organization ( Eutelsat ).
The satellite was originally called SESAT 1 . It was launched into space in 2000 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome , Kazakhstan . Later it was moved to the orbit position 16 °° East in order to compensate for the total failure of the Eutelsat W2 . There it served as backup capacity and for regular operation together with the decrepit Eurobird 16 (formerly Atlantic Bird 4) and the defective Eutelsat W2M .
On March 1, 2012, Eutelsat unified the names of its satellites around the brand name.
reception
The satellite could be received in Europe and the Middle East . The transmission takes place in the Ku band .
