Nina Burri (born August 23, 1977 in Bern , Switzerland ) is a Swiss contortionist and ballet dancer .

biography

Nina Burri started dancing ballet when she was six . In addition, Nina Burri learned modern dance, jazz and tap dance and took singing and acting lessons.

At the age of 15, Burri attended the ballet academy in Basel and Graz. From 1995 she attended the " State Ballet School Berlin ". There she completed her training in 1998 with a diploma as a “state-certified stage dancer”. At 21, she joined Maurice Béjart ’s “École-Atelier Rudra Béjart” in Lausanne . Two years later, Burri left Switzerland and took on a role as a ballet dancer at the "Staatstheater Saarbrücken".

This was followed by engagements in the “Bal du Moulin Rouge ” in Paris, as well as in television shows in Germany and Switzerland. Burri also appeared as a model in shows in Israel , Berlin and Tokyo .

At the age of 30, she learned contortion at the Beijing International Art School, the acrobat academy of the China Acrobatic Troupe. Then she developed her first choreography, which consisted of contortion and dance. She took part in various circus competitions. Shortly afterwards she also got her first appearance as a contortionist.

Her second choreography pays homage to James Bond and is called Goldeneye . She performed the choreography in variety shows and circus shows. In 2009 Nina Burri won the Swiss competition “ Small Prix Walo ”. In 2011 she was second in the show “ The greatest Swiss talents ” and a finalist in the French format of the show “La France a un Incroyable Talent”.

As a model, Nina Burri has worked with photographer Peter Lindbergh for Deutsche Vogue , among others . In 2013 Nina toured with the Swiss National Circus Knie . Shortly afterwards she accompanied DJ BoBo on tour as the main character of his show "Circus".

In 2014 she was a finalist on the NBC casting show America's Got Talent .

As an actress, she can be seen in Ariadne 2050 for Fastbreak.
