Miss Earth
Miss Earth is so far considered the third largest beauty pageant in the world after Miss World and Miss Universe . The participants are determined in national competitions such as Miss Earth Germany and Miss Earth Switzerland. The winner is supposed to be an ambassador for climate protection and therefore has to prove her knowledge by giving an English-language lecture. In 2007 even more candidates took part than in the Miss Universe . It was held in the Philippines from 2001 to 2009 . The competition took place in Vietnam for the first time in 2010, but was held again in Manila in 2011. In 2012 and 2013 the competition took place in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, Philippines.
The winner of the competition will receive the title Miss Earth . The runners-up receive their titles according to the three other elements of the four-element teaching : Miss Earth Air , Miss Earth Water , Miss Earth Fire .
