Nina Wrobel (* 28. July 1983 in Munich as Nina Lisa Marie Göhl ) is a former German mountain bike rider who is active as a doctor today.
Career
Wrobel grew up with her twin brother and seven younger siblings in Argenbühl in the Allgäu. There she discovered her love for cycling in 1998. In 1999 she won the title in the youth class in cross-country, which enabled her to join the German national team.
After graduating from high school, she began studying medicine in Freiburg in October 2004 . Since 2007 she only studied in the winter semester and uses the summer for training and races.
Her greatest successes include not only the German championship title in the MTB Marathon 2006, but also winning the World Cup race in Fort William , Scotland , also in 2006.
She rode for the Radunion Wangen and until 2009 for the Multivan Merida Biking Team . Then she joined the Rothaus Poison-Bikes Team from Freiburg, for which she no longer competed for health reasons. In 2009 she declared her active time over because the double burden of studying became too much for her.
In 2014 she appeared sporty again and took 17th place behind Tanja Žakelj at the European Championships in St. Wendel . She took part in the Mountain Bike World Championship in Norway and started in the Mountain Bike World Cup in 2014 and 2015.
In 2016 she declared her cycling career over again.
In June 2018, the 34-year-old finished second in the Black Forest Ultra Bike Marathon on the Speed Track course (51.6 km).
Nina Wrobel has been married to Oliver Wrobel since 1999 and graduated with a state examination in 2012. Since the end of 2013 she has been working as a doctor at the University Clinic Freiburg . Their daughter was born in 2017.
