history
The community was created on January 1, 1972 through the merger of the previously independent communities Christazhofen, Eglofs, Eisenharz, Göttlishofen, Ratzenried and Siggen. The name Argenbühl is a combination of Argen and Bühl. The second part of the name Bühl (= hill) is intended to express the hilly landscape in which the community is located. Its history is described in great detail in the description of the Oberamt Wangen from 1841. In 1810 all of the aforementioned municipalities were assigned to the Oberamt Wangen in the Kingdom of Württemberg . The administrative reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg led to membership in the district of Wangen in 1938 . In 1945 the places fell into the French zone of occupation and thus came to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Hohenzollern , which was incorporated into the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952. In 1973 the district reform took place in Baden-Württemberg , when Argenbühl was assigned to the Ravensburg district .
