Nina Reiter

Nina Reiter (* 1991 in Graz ) is an Austrian jazz musician ( vocals , composition ).

Live and act

Reiter developed an interest in music as a child. At the age of 13 she received her first jazz singing lessons and performed throughout Austria as part of the vocal ensemble Peppermint . In 2007 she performed at the Marianne Mendt Jazz Festival in St. Pölten. At the age of 18 she moved to Vienna, where she studied jazz singing with Ines Reiger at the Music and Art University of the City of Vienna until 2013 . After passing her bachelor's degree with distinction , she moved to Switzerland, where she completed the master's courses in performance, jazz and singing (2015) and pedagogy, jazz and singing (2017) with distinction at the Lucerne School of Music .

In 2016, Unit Records released her debut album Night, Sleep, Death and the Stars , which includes her own compositions and poetry settings as well as interpretations of well-known jazz standards . Together with Peter Primus Frosch, Stephan Plecher and Marc Mezgolits, she founded the quartet Phraim that same year , which released its first album on QFTF Records in 2019. Reinforced by the wind players Martin Gasser and Richard Köster, this band also appears as Lady Nine Plus Five .
