Nina Zimmermann-Elseify

Nina Zimmermann-Elseify (nee Nina Zimmermann ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Life

Nina Zimmermann studied Classical Archeology, Pre- and Early History and Ancient History . She worked with Heide Fronings on the Hellenistic Ceramics project at the University of Marburg , where she received her doctorate in 1997 with the work Relationships between Clay and Metal Vessels from the Late Classical and Early Hellenistic Periods . For her work, she was awarded the travel grant of the German Archaeological Institute , with the help of which she was able to travel to the Mediterranean . From 2000 to 2004 Zimmermann-Elseify worked as a trainee and research assistant at the Antikensammlung of the Staatliche Museen Kassel . She then researched terracottas in the ancient city of Elis with Heide Froning and worked on the white-ground , black- and red-figure lekyths and alabastras from the Berlin Collection of Antiquities in four volumes for the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum Germany . Zimmermann-Elseify has been the curator responsible for Greek ceramics at the Berlin Collection of Antiquities, succeeding Ursula Kästner , since 2016 .
