Ursula Kastner

Ursula Kästner (* 1951 as Ursula von Brück ) is a German classical archaeologist .

Ursula Kästner grew up near Dresden . At the Humboldt University in Berlin , she studied Classical Archeology with Ludger Alscher and then worked on the “Lexicon of Art” and as a private assistant to Elisabeth Charlotte Welskopf on the “Social Types of Terms” project. From June 15, 1977 to 2016, Kästner was employed at the Antikensammlung Berlin , since 1989 as curator for antique vases. Research focuses on Etruscan and Lower-Italian vases, the history of collections and science, and the history of restoration. She has written many guide sheets, brochures and articles in museum catalogs about the collection of antiquities. In May 2008, Kästner was elected a corresponding member of the German Archaeological Institute .
