Stefano Marco Garris , called "Nino" (born April 21, 1979 in Paderborn ) is a former German basketball player .
Life
He is the son of an American father and an Italian mother. He began his basketball career in his hometown of Paderborn with the then second division Forbo Baskets before moving to Berlin in 1998. After an injury-induced break in the season 98/99 he made there from 1999 to 2001 when TuS Lichterfelde , the farm team of Alba Berlin great progress.
Already at the end of the 2000/2001 season, with a double license also for Alba, he jumped in the playoffs for the German championship for injured top performers and immediately played a major role in ensuring that the Berliners were able to successfully defend their championship title.
Immediately afterwards, Nino continued his promotion at the 2001 European Championships in Turkey .

Nino lives with the singer Stephanie Brauckmeyer ( Germany is looking for the superstar ) and became the father of Jaden Romeo on February 6, 2006.
From the 2008/2009 season, Garris played again for his home club Paderborn Baskets , the club announced this on July 28, 2008 at a press conference. After a season in which he averaged 4.7 points, he left the team.
After a season without a competitive game, Garris joined TV Salzkotten in the 1st Regionalliga West for the 2010/2011 season. There he should lead a young team and help to keep the club in the league. In 2012 Garris finally resigned from competitive sports for health reasons.
