Nino Terzo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nino Terzo (actually Antonino Terzo ; born May 22, 1923 in Palermo , † May 8, 2005 in Marano di Napoli ) was an Italian comedian and actor .

Terzo had appeared as a comedian in "Avanspettacolo", a stage form close to revue, and on revue stages together with Totò , Peppino De Filippo , Domenico Modugno and Franco & Ciccio as well as Lino Banfi mostly in supporting role. He has also appeared in various operettas. From 1962 he repeated his role as a direct and panic reacting figure with an enormous speech problem, who is only able to express himself again through hectic inhalation and exhalation, for numerous films, which were often starred with his former stage partner . He has seldom been able to escape this somewhat monothematic cliché in the long run and show approaches to actual acting, as in Federico Fellini's Die Clowns , Nanni Loy's Cafè Express or Giuseppe Tornatores Nuovo cinema Paradiso . In 1992 he retired into private life for health reasons. After four heart attacks, he lived with his wife in the Neapolitan hinterland and died largely forgotten.
