The Nishnabotna River is a 26 km long river in the US -amerikanischen states Iowa , Missouri and Nebraska . Its course begins with the confluence of the West Nishnabotna River with the East Nishnabotna River near Hamburg in Fremont County , Iowa and ends with the confluence with the Missouri River , which forms the Missouri-Nebraska border , around 7 km west of Watson in Atchison County , Missouri . A few kilometers before its mouth, the Nishnabotna River flows through an area east of the Missouri that belongs to Nebraska.
