The Niukluk River is a 95 km long right tributary of the Fish River in the south of the Seward Peninsula in western Alaska .

The Niukluk River rises in the west of the Bendeleben Mountains at an altitude of about 700  m , just under 13 km northeast of the 1137  m high Mount Bendeleben . It initially flows 30 km south-southwest from the mountains to the confluence of the Libby River flowing in from the west . The Niukluk River then turns towards east-southeast. The Casadepaga River , the most important tributary of the Niukluk River, flows into the river on the right. This passes the abandoned Council settlement and finally flows after another 18 km into the Fish River, 40 km above its mouth in the Golovnin Lagoon . The Niukluk River splits over its lower 60 km into several river arms that unite again. Over the last three kilometers, the Niukluk River splits into two estuary arms, which meet the Fish River at a distance of about 650 m. The Niukluk River drains an area of about 2100 km².
