Niviaq Chemnitz Berthelsen (born January 26, 1989 ) is a cross-country skier and biathlete from Greenland .

Niviaq Berthelsen does not have any success in the World Cup, in which she would have to compete for Denmark, but is one of the outstanding participants in the Arctic Circle Race, one of the most difficult long distance races in the world . As a 17-year-old, she took second place here in 2006, a success that she repeated in 2008. In 2009 she was able to win the race for the first time in front of Uiloq Slettemark , who started as the big favorite . This was the start of a winning streak that lasted until 2014, when she won the race for the sixth year in a row.

She competes in Worldloppet cross-country races and took part in the Wasalauf in 2008 . Also in 2006 Berthelsen made her international debut in the European Biathlon Cup when she finished 73rd in the 7.5 km sprint of the juniors in Obertilliach . In 2011 and 2013 she took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo and Val di Fiemme , but only finished in the back positions at her starts.
