Athletic career

Like many other successful Kenyan runners, Chepseba attended Patrick's High School in Iten , where he was trained by Brother Colm O'Connell. His first international assignment was at the Junior African Championships in Mauritius . There he immediately won the silver medal in the 1,500 meter run.

Chepseba's international breakthrough came in the 2011 season. At the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , Chepseba came fourth.
