Noah Creshevsky

Noah Creshevsky (born January 31, 1945 in Rochester ) is an American composer and music teacher .

Creshevsky studied in Paris with Nadia Boulanger and at the Juilliard School of Music with Luciano Berio . He was director of the Center for Computer Music and professor at Brooklyn College at the City University of New York . He also taught at the Juilliard School and Hunter College and was visiting professor at Princeton University . In his compositions, Creshevsky combines natural and instrumental sounds and human voices, which he processes electronically, in a kind of collage. He himself describes his compositional style as hyperrealism .

Creshevski has received awards and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts , the New York State Council on the Arts, and the ASCAP .
