Noble Okello Ayo (born July 20, 2000 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian football player of Ugandan descent in the position of midfielder . Since 2016 he has been playing for Toronto FC II , the second professional team in the major league soccer franchise Toronto FC , which also plays in the United Soccer League (USL).

Club career

Noble Okello was born on July 20, 2000 in the metropolis of Toronto in the Canadian province of Ontario and grew up speaking English . He comes from a football-loving family; his uncle is Anthony Atine and his cousin Tony Awor, now a UK based football agent and advisor. At the age of six he began his football career with the North York Hearts Azzurri youth club . At the age of twelve he made the leap into the academy of the major league soccer franchise Toronto FC in 2013 after joining the youth training club Mooredale SC . From then on, he went through all junior game classes at the TFC Academy and from the 2016 game year came to work for the also TFC Academy U-20 team of the franchise. In the final standings, he and the team ranked sixth and penultimate place in the Great Lakes Division , one of two parallel seasons in the Central Conference , which is itself one of four parallel seasons within the fourth-rate Premier Development League (PDL).

In the 2017 game year, after the U-20 team renamed itself Toronto FC III , the tall midfielder also made regular appearances in the semi-professional League1 Ontario , in which the team appeared from now on. On September 15, 2017, he signed a professional contract as the 29th player from the Toronto FC Academy and was signed by Toronto FC II , the second professional team in the MLS franchise. On October 7, 2017, Okello made his competitive debut for the team and made his professional debut when he was sent on the field by coach Jason Bent to replace Brian James in a 2: 4 away defeat to Bethlehem Steel FC in the 71st minute of the game . A week later he was on the bench in a 3-4 away defeat against FC Cincinnati , but was not used. So far (as of February 11, 2018) he has only had one professional assignment.

After the end of the United Soccer League 2017 , Noble Okello and his teammate Zakaria Abdi of the same age were invited to a trial training session at the German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg . On January 10, 2018, he completed the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win for the U-19 team over Halleschen FC and scored the goal to equalize 1-1 in this game. After another successful assignment under the youth coach Thomas Reis , Toronto FC brought him back to North America to prepare for the Major League Soccer 2018 season . He started pre-season with the MLS franchise and reigning MLS champions on January 22, 2018 in Los Angeles , California , and came to a number of friendly matches in January and February 2018.

National team career

At the age of 16 he was first used for a youth national team of the Canadian Soccer Association . Under the former professional player Paul Stalteri , he took part in a training camp for the Canadian U-17 national team in Panama in September 2016 . He was then employed at a selection camp in Vaughan at the end of October 2016 and at an U-17 program in Jamaica at the end of November 2016 . In April 2017 he got 17 team U-actually his debut for the Canadian, as he his country in the U-17 CONCACAF Championship of the year 2017 represented in Panama. With the automatically qualified Canadians, he played all three group games and was eliminated from the tournament early as third in Group B.
