Noel Bailie MBE (born February 23, 1971 in Lisburn ) is a Northern Irish football player . From the 1989/90 season, the defensive specialist was under contract with the Northern Irish first division club Linfield FC . After the 2010/11 season, he ended his career as a football player.

Career

As a youth, Bailie joined the youth department of Linfield FC in 1986 from the Hillsborough Boys' Club . In the second half of the 1988/89 season he made his debut in the men's division. At the age of 17 he made his first professional appearance in the cup game on March 30, 1989. Since then he has played for Linfield continuously. In the years to come he won numerous titles for his home club and rose not only to the top performer, but also to the team's captain. In 1993 he held the IFA Premiership championship cup in his hands for the first time . At that time he was still playing with David Jeffrey , who became his coach in 1997. To date, eight more championships and seven successes in the Irish Cup have been added to Bailie's title collection . In 1994 he was also elected Ulster Footballer of the Year .

On April 24, 2010, he completed his 1000th competitive game for Linfield.

In June 2013 he was awarded the MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to Northern Irish football .
