The Nohokomeen Glacier is located in the North Cascades National Park in Washington state in a valley basin on the north slope of Jack Mountain . It is strongly influenced by crevasses traversed, ft in particular in the middle of its path of 8,200 (2,499 m) down to 6,100 ft (1,859 m) altitude. In the past 20 years, the receding glacier released a new small lake at 6,260 ft (1,908 m) altitude. Overall, the glacier is less affected by general retreat than the average in the Cascade Range at a rate of less than 100 yards (91 m) over the last 17 or less than 900 ft (274 m) over the last 46 years. This is most likely due to the high altitude of the glacier; many glaciers in the Cascade Range are up to 1,000 ft (about 300 m) lower.
