Nomada goodeniana is a bee from the family of Apidae . The species and Nomada succincta are considered by some authors to be the same species.

features

The bees have a body length of 10 to 13 millimeters. The females are black and have yellow markings. The mandibles and labrum are reddish in color in most individuals, but they can also be yellow. It has several teeth on its front edge. The scutellum has two yellow spots. The tergites are black and have narrow, yellow bands. The antennae are red, rarely the shaft and the first two links are black. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are more or less black below, the thigh ring ( trochanter ) of the hind legs has a hair fringe. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs have two small thorns that are not close together. The males look similar to the females. However, their face is completely yellow and the antennae are half black on the top. On the hind legs, the thighs are more or less black and have a spot of hair at the base, the thigh ring has a hair fringe and the rails are yellow on the inside and have two small thorns that are not close together.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in large parts of Europe. These wasp bees fly from mid-March to the end of June, rarely in two generations. They parasitize in the nests of Andrena cineraria , Andrena nigroaenea , Andrena nitida , Andrena thoracica and Andrena tibialis .
