Nomada succincta is a bee from the family of Apidae . Some authors consider the species to be synonymous with Nomada goodeniana .

features

The bees are 10 to 13 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and yellow. The tergites are black and have wide yellow bands. The black labrum has strong teeth behind the front edge. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The upper side of the antenna shaft and often the following links are black. The scutellum has two yellow spots. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have two small thorns lying next to each other. The males look similar to the females, but their labrum is yellow. The thighs ( femora ) of the hind legs are predominantly black and have yellowish hair spots on the underside, like the hips ( coxes ) of the hind legs. The little thorns on the back rails are not together.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in southern and central Europe. The animals fly from late March to late June. They parasitize Andrena labialis , Andrena nigroaenea and Andrena nitida and maybe Andrena curvungula as well .
