Nomada sexfasciata is a bee from the family of Apidae .
features
The bees have a body length of 11 to 13 millimeters (females) or 11 to 14 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and yellow. The tergites are black, the first three have yellow spots, the fourth and fifth have yellow bands. The labrum is yellow and is as long as it is wide. The third antenna segment is the same length as the fourth. The frontal plate ( clypeus ) protrudes clearly. The scutellum, which is slightly humped, has two yellow spots. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have fine thorns that are difficult to see in the hair. The males look similar to the females.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in southern and central Europe. The animals fly from late April to late June. They parasitize Eucera longicornis and Eucera nigrescens , probably also Eucera interrupta .
