Nora Gubisch

Nora Gubisch (* 1971 in Paris ) is a French opera singer (mezzo-soprano). She is married to the conductor and pianist Alain Altinoglu , with whom she also performs together and has made various recordings.

Life

Nora Gubisch began her musical career with the help of a funding program from Radio France, in which she was allowed to participate as a teenager. There she sang in the “Young Choir” for a few years and then began studying piano in Paris. This was followed by vocal studies at the Paris Conservatory, which she graduated with first prize at the age of 24.

The versatility of her repertoire has given her worldwide appearances, where she conducts with Sir Colin Davis , Nikolaus Harnoncourt , Kent Nagano , Christoph Eschenbach and Lorin Maazel as conductors, and orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic Orchestra , the Vienna Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra concerted.

Gubisch was awarded the French Order of the Arts et des Lettres .
