Norbert Heinz Gallinnis (born August 26, 1967 in Gevelsberg ) is a German correspondence chess player .
Correspondence chess
He won the German youth correspondence chess championship in the 1982/86 tournament. In 1986 he also won the Baltic Sea Cup. In the final of the 17th ICCF World Chess Championship, which was held from 2002 to 2007, he finished 11th, ahead of the former European champion Libor Daněk . In 2004/09 he won the 6th European team championship on the fifth board of the German national team.
In 2002 he was awarded the title of Honored International Master (SIM), a correspondence chess title that is somewhere between international master and grandmaster .

Close chess
In 1986 he won the North Rhine-Westphalian U18 championship in Duisburg , and in 1988 the individual tournament of the unofficial NATO championship in Nørresundby, Denmark . He first played club chess in the SG Ennepetal / Gevelsberg (today's Ennepe-Ruhr-Süd chess community ). From there he moved to the higher class playing SV Welper . He played with SG Bochum 31 in the 1987/88 and 1988/89 seasons in the German Federal Chess League . From Bochum he moved to the Meerbusch chess club (which has since been absorbed into TuS 64 Bösinghoven ), then to SG Porz , where he was the team leader of the first team.
In tournament chess he holds the title of FIDE champion .
Extraordinary
Norbert Gallinnis studied business administration at Bochum University . He was married to the chess player Václava Gallinnisová, who took part with Viktoria Žižkov at the 3rd European Women's Club Cup in 1998 and played in the 2nd Czech League and the 2nd German Women's Bundesliga. Norbert Gallinis' brother is the motorsport expert Harald Gallinnis.
