Norbert Giltjes

Norbert Giltjes (* 7. May 1942 in Emmerich ; † 15. February 1998 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life and work

After graduating from high school , he studied pedagogy in Münster . After taking the first and second state exams , he worked in the school service, most recently as the school authority director in Düsseldorf.

In 1964 he joined the CDU. He was active in numerous committees of the party, including Giltjes was chairman of the CDU district of Niederrhein.

MP

From May 31, 1990 until his death on February 15, 1998 Giltjes was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected in the constituency 061 Kleve II. He had been a member of the city council of Emmerich from 1969 and was mayor from 1988 to 1989 .

Honors

A street in Emmerich was named after him.
