Hermann Aubert

Hermann Rudolph Aubert (born November 23, 1826 in Frankfurt (Oder) , † February 12, 1892 in Rostock ) was a German physiologist , university professor and multiple rector of the University of Rostock .

Life

Hermann Aubert was a son of the (later) Royal Prussian government main treasurer and court counselor Karl August Ferdinand Aubert.

Aubert studied in Berlin medicine and zoology and received his doctorate in 1850 in Berlin as a doctor of medicine. He then became assistant to Karl Bogislaus Reichert at the University of Breslau , where he was appointed private lecturer in 1854 and associate professor in 1862. In 1865 the call to full professor came to the newly established chair for physiology at the University of Rostock. In 1870/71, 1876/77, 1888/89 and 1889/90 Aubert was rector of the University of Rostock and was also elected dean of the medical faculty in 1869 and 1880. In addition to the function of director of the Physiological Institute, Aubert was from 1889 chief medical officer and from 1876 knight of the house order of the Wendish crown .

Hermann Aubert married the childless widow Friederike Sophia Caroline in Rostock in 1867. von Kardorff , b. von Randow (* 1827), daughter of a glassworks owner Karl von Randow on Rossow. Their first husband, Heinrich Friedrich Wilhelm Carl von Kardorff († 1858), had been a landowner on Granzow.
