Norbert Gisder

Norbert Gisder (born December 5, 1956 ) is a German-speaking journalist and writer born in Brazil who grew up in Rio Negro, Sao Paulo, Brazil , and in the Rhineland , studied in Montreal / Canada , Bonn and Berlin , and now lives near Berlin.

Life

Norbert Gisder was born in Brazil as the seventh of eight children of the school principal Hans Gisder and his wife Renate Gisder. He grew up in the south of the country, came to Germany with his family in 1966, where he lived in the Rhineland, and graduated from the Landrat-Lucas-Gymnasium in Opladen before studying Indology and Comparative Linguistics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1980 he moved to Berlin to the Free University of Berlin , where Gisder studied political science at the Otto Suhr Institute. After stays in New York and Paris and studies at the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Canada, he graduated in Berlin in 1984 with a thesis on Friedrich Nietzsche . As a journalist Gisder u. a. for the Rheinische Post , the Frankfurter Rundschau , Capital , for Radio Canada as a foreign correspondent and for RIAS-TV as a freelance reporter. From 1984 to 2007 he was with the Berliner Morgenpost and established the only weekly water sports website of a German daily newspaper that still exists today. From 2001 to 2007 he also held managerial positions at the newspaper Die Welt . Since 2008 editor-in-chief of the online magazine GT-Worldwide.
