Norbert Reimann

Norbert Reimann (born September 24, 1943 in Wünschelburg ) is a German historian and archivist .

Life

Norbert Reimann studied history, sociology and Catholic theology at the Universities of Bonn and Bochum . From 1968 to 1972 he was a research assistant at the University of Bochum , where he completed his doctorate in 1971. After completing his traineeship at the archive school in Marburg (1972–74), he became deputy head of the Dortmund city archive. In 1987 he switched to the Westphalian Archives Office as director and became director of the United Westphalian Aristocratic Archives. In 2008 he retired.

Between 1994 and 2013 Reimann was a lecturer and 2003 honorary professor at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences . Since 1986 he has been a full member of the Historical Commission for Westphalia as well as the author and editor of numerous specialist publications. From 1993 to 2001 he was chairman of the professional association of German archivists .
