Norbert Rubey
Norbert Rubey (* 1955 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musicologist who works as a librarian at the Vienna City Library .
Life
Rubey is a librarian and music editor and as an expert in the study of the history of the Vienna upscale light music and the Strauss dynasty worked at the Vienna City Library and the Vienna Institute for Strauss Research. Rubey presented numerous publications on Strauss topics, Viennese dance music and Viennese operetta and gave lectures, courses and lectures at home and abroad.
He is the project manager of the Strauss catalogs, the Strauss Elementary Directory (SEV) and the Strauss Alliance Directory (SAV). Rubey is also the editor of Doblinger's Johann Strauss Complete Edition in collaboration with the Vienna Institute for Strauss Research . He curated various exhibitions.
Awards
- 2006 German Music Edition Award for the critical edition of The Merry Widow ( Franz Lehár ), score and parts.
- 2016 Awarded the professional title “Professor” at the request of Senate President Eduard Strauss
