Norbert Schindler

Norbert Schindler (born October 15, 1949 in Grünstadt ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

Schindler grew up in Rodenbach . After attending primary school , he completed an apprenticeship in agriculture and finally passed the examination to become a master of agriculture . He has been running his own agricultural and wine-growing business in Bobenheim am Berg since 1972 . He is Vice President of the German Farmers' Association , Honorary President of the Farmers and Vintners Association Rhineland-Palatinate South and President of the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Agriculture. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank .

Norbert Schindler is Catholic , married and has two children.

He joined the CDU in 1966 and was a member of the municipal council of Bobenheim am Berg from 1979 to 1989. In 1991 he was elected chairman of the CDU district association Bad Dürkheim and in 1999 he became a member of the district council of the Bad Dürkheim district .

From 1994 to 2017 Schindler was a member of the German Bundestag . He always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Neustadt - Speyer constituency . In the 2009 Bundestag election it received 44.6% of the first votes , and in 2013 it received 47.9%.

In 2016, Schindler announced that it would retire from politics at the end of the year and no longer run for the Bundestag.

Schindler was an alternate member of the Food and Agriculture Committee . As a member of the energy committee, Norbert Schindler was a biofuel and agricultural lobbyist . He works on a voluntary basis in the Association of the Bioethanol Industry , on the Supervisory Board of the bioethanol company CropEnergies and as a functionary of various agricultural associations and organizations, including as Vice President of the German Farmers' Association.
