Norbert Weldler

Norbert Weldler (born November 4, 1884 in Vienna , † July 6, 1961 in Zurich ) was a Zionist living in Zurich .

life and work

Norbert Weldler was editor of the Zürcher Bücherblatt . He was head of the Swiss association Pro Zion . In 1955 he and Benjamin Sagalowitz wanted to found a Switzerland-Israel society , which only came about in 1956 under Max Gurny . Weldler's most famous writing is Victory of the Zionist Idea ; the solution to the Jewish question . He was married to the author Augusta Weldler-Steinberg .

Trivia

He organized a jewelry collection for the Israel Defense Fund . He donated a large part of his books to the library of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem .
