Nordic Sociological Association

The Nordic Sociological Association (NSA) is an amalgamation of the sociological specialist societies of Denmark ( Dansk Sociologiforening ), Finland ( Westermarck Society ), Iceland ( Félagsfræðingafélag Íslands ), Norway ( Norsk sosiologforening ) and Sweden ( Sveriges Sociologförbund ). All members of the respective national sociology associations are automatically members of the NSA. The main tasks of the NSA are: the publication of the quarterly magazine Acta Sociologica , the organization of a biannual technical conference ( Nordic Sociological Association Conference ) and the support of professional development in the field of sociology in Scandinavia. The NSA is a member of the European Sociological Association and the International Sociological Association .

NSA chairman is (as of 2018) Kristian Berg Harpviken (Norway).
