Heinrich Wilhelm Lehmann (born May 29, 1799 in Großiegen , † March 19, 1866 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general and inspector of the 4th fortress inspection.

Life

Heinrich Wilhelm was a son of the mayor of Glogau Johann Caspar August Lehmann and his wife Juste, née Glotke.

Military career

After visiting the school in Nordhausen Lehmann was 1814 Forest eleve in Forstrevier Branderode and took effect on 11 June 1815 as a hunter in the Guard Rifle Battalion of the Prussian army one. Under promotion to second lieutenant , he commanded the 2nd Engineer Brigade on March 11, 1819 and also the fifth pioneer department aggregated . On May 27, 1820 he was posted there and performed fortification service in Glogau. In 1824 Lehmann was promoted to department adjutant , advanced to prime lieutenant at the end of April 1831 and was commanded as 2nd adjutant of the 2nd engineer inspection. On March 24, 1839, he was promoted to 1st adjutant and on March 29, 1840, he was promoted to captain . Left in his position, he was transferred to the adjutantage on November 30, 1841 and promoted to major on July 9, 1846 . At the same time, Lehmann was active from September 9, 1846 as a member of the study commission of the artillery and engineering school and as a member of the examination commission for captains 2nd class and first lieutenants of the engineering corps. On March 6, 1849, he became adjutant to the General Inspectorate of Fortifications and the Corps of Engineers and Pioneers. In this capacity, promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 22, 1851 , Lehmann was appointed inspector of the 1st Pioneer Inspection on April 5, 1853. There he was transferred to Magdeburg on July 13, 1854, and as inspector of the 4th fortress inspection on March 7, 1857 . Lehmann rose to major general at the end of November 1858 and received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves , on October 3, 1859 . From June 6, 1861, he received a salary of 3,000 thalers in his post. On April 15, 1862, he was put up for disposal with a pension . He died on March 19, 1866 in Berlin and was buried on March 22, 1866 in the cemetery in Hasenheide.

Lehmann married on January 31, 1836 in Glogau Auguste Luise Emilie Kretschmer (1800–1861), the daughter of the Glogau shopkeeper Kretschmer.
