The German Empire was in the International Ski Federation retroactively to the third Nordic World Ski Championships explained FIS race of 1926 in Lahti in Finland by an athlete represented.

The German Ski Association sent only Gustl Müller from the Bavarian Ski Association to the congress races in Lahti . In order to keep travel costs down, the ski associations of Germany, Austria and German Bohemia agreed to only send one athlete to the competitions in Finland and to make the journey together and at shared costs. The Austrian Ski Association withdrew its participants before the start of the trip, so that only Gustl Müller from DSV and Wilhelm Dick from HDW started the trip to Scandinavia .

Müller achieved the best placement with a 15th place in ski jumping .

Note: In some contemporary sports reports outside of Czechoslovakia and Germany, Willi Dick was listed as a representative of the DSV, sometimes as a Czech (SL RČS) or even an Austrian (ÖSV) member of the association. Above all, the attribution to the DSV can still be found in some lists on the Internet today. According to contemporary reports from his home country, however, he started for the main association of German winter sports clubs in Czechoslovakia (HDW).
