The Czechoslovakia was among the International Ski Federation retroactively to the third Nordic World Ski Championships explained FIS race of 1926 in Lahti in Finland both from the Czechoslovak ski federation Svaz lyžařů Republiky československé (SL RCS) and the German Federation winter sports clubs represented.

Participants and results SL RČS

The Svaz lyžařů RČS nominated five athletes in advance for the competitions in Lahti, of which three finally started the trip to Lahti.

The Czechoslovak representatives had nothing to do with the top positions. Josef Bím from Vysoké nad Jizerou achieved the best placement with a 23rd place in ski jumping. Josef Německý from Nové Město na Moravě had to give up in the endurance run over 50 km due to fatigue due to the long journey, as did Emmerich Rath from Prague .

Note: In the contemporary sports coverage of the Prager Tagblatt , the German Bohemian Emmerich Rath, otherwise a member of the HDW, was listed as a participant in the SL RČS. Changes between the individual Czechoslovakian ski associations did not happen very often, but in contrast to most other sports associations in the country, they were quite possible.

Participants and results HDW

The main association of German winter sports clubs in Czechoslovakia originally nominated two athletes for Lahti, Wilhelm Dick and Franz Donth. In order to keep travel costs down, the ski associations of Germany, Austria and German Bohemia agreed to only send one athlete to the competitions in Finland and to make the journey together and at shared costs. The Austrian Ski Association withdrew its participants before the start of the trip, so that only Gustl Müller from DSV and Wilhelm Dick from HDW started the trip to Scandinavia .

Note: In some contemporary sports reports outside of Czechoslovakia and Germany, Willi Dick was listed as a representative of the DSV, sometimes as a Czech (SL RČS) or even an Austrian (ÖSV) member of the association. Above all, the attribution to the DSV can still be found in some lists on the Internet today. According to contemporary reports from his home country, however, he started for the main association of German winter sports clubs in Czechoslovakia (HDW).
