Nordre Røse Fyr is a lighthouse at the northern end of Drogden Sound between Amager and the island of Saltholm in Öresund .

The beacon was erected in 1877 as Denmark's first fixed lighthouse in the open fairway. The substructure and the five meter high elliptical foundation (above the water surface) as well as the round tower were built from granite .

The elaborate construction turned out to be insufficiently stable when the ice in the Öresund was too strong . Therefore, in the years 1892-1893, repairs and extensive reinforcement of the substructure became necessary.

The substructure also housed common rooms for the lighthouse personnel and an engine room.

Originally the beacon had a fixed lens apparatus with rotating lens compartments alternating between white and red. This was changed in 1906 and the beacon was converted into an angle light with a new lantern and a fixed lens apparatus. The lantern was now operated with acetylene gas. The gas was produced on the lighthouse itself. These changes made the Dragør Forfyr (Dragør Unterfeuer) and Dragør Bagfyr (Dragør Oberfeuer) lights obsolete and abandoned.

In 1926 the beacon was electrified.

For a long time, Nordre Røse Fyr lighthouse was permanently operated by three men. Today the beacon is remotely controlled from Drogden Fyr .
