Ernstowo ( German  Ernstfelde ) is a small town in the Polish Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Wydminy (Widminnen) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ).

Geographical location

Ernstowo is located in the eastern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 16 kilometers southeast of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) . The Głomno – Białystok railway runs along the southern border of the town .

history

Today's hamlet ( Polish osada ) Ernstowo was until 1945 as Ernstfelde an estate in the rural community Widminnen (Wydminy) and thus belonged to the administrative district of the same name in the district of Lötzen in the administrative district of Gumbinnen (1905 to 1945 administrative district of Allenstein ) of the Prussian province of East Prussia . It was also integrated into the Widminnen registry office . In 1905 Ernstfelde had 23 residents.

In consequence of the war Ernst field in 1945 came with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and has since been called in Polish Ernstowo . The current hamlet is integrated into the Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) Wydminy and thus a place in the community of the same name in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ), until 1998 of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 Ernstfelde was parish in the Evangelical Church of Widminnen in the church province of East Prussia of the Evangelical Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Ernstowo belongs to the protestant church Wydminy , a filial community of the parish Giżycko in the diocese Mazury the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland , and the Catholic church Wdyminy in the diocese Elk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .

Ernstowo can be reached via two land routes that connect Wydminy (Widminnen) to the voivodship road DW 655 and Dudka (Schraderswert) with the village. The nearest train station is Wydminy on the Głomno – Białystok railway line .
