Łękuk Mały ( German Klein Lenkuk (Gut) ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the rural community of Wydminy (Widminnen) in the Giżycki powiat ( Lötzen district ).
Geographical location
Łękuk Mały is located on the south bank of Lake Klein Lenkuk ( Jezioro Łękuk in Polish ) in the eastern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, 25 kilometers east of the district town of Giżycko (Lötzen) .
history
The former Klein Lenkuk , written Klein Lenkuck in 1785 , was an estate in the municipality of Rhog ( Róg Orłowski in Polish ) until 1945 , which itself took the name of the estate in 1938. In terms of the registry office , Klein Lenkuk was oriented towards Orłowo (Orlowen , 1938 to 1945 Adlersdorf) . The small estate had a total of 80 inhabitants in 1905.
As a result of the war , Klein Lenkuk came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and since then has borne the Polish name form "Łękuk Mały". Today the small place is included in the Schulzenamt ( Polish sołectwo ) Orłowo and is thus a place within the rural municipality Wydminy (Widminnen) in the powiat Giżycki ( Lötzen district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it has belonged to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
Until 1945, Klein Lenkuk was parish in the Evangelical Church of Orlowen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish church of St. Bruno Lötzen in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Łękuk Mały belongs to the protestant church Wydminy , a filial community of the parish Giżycko in the diocese Mazury the Evangelical Augsburg Church in Poland and the Catholic parish church of St. Casimir Orłowo in the Diocese of Elk (Lyck) of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland .

Łękuk Mały can be reached via two sometimes impassable side streets that lead from Gajrowskie (Friedrichsheyde , 1938 to 1945 Friedrichsheide) in the east and from Róg Orłowski (Rhog , 1938 to 1945 Klein Lenkuk) from the north.
